What is the Africa Internet Summit?
The Africa Internet Summit (AIS) is an annual regional multi-stakeholder ICT conference that brings together Africa's ICT businesses and technical communities to discuss regional and global ICT issues and challenges. The African Network Operators Group (AfNOG) organises the AIS 2024 (ais'24).
The Africa Internet Summit 2024 will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, technical experts, civil society organisations and private sector representatives, to discuss and shape the development of the Internet in Africa. Through this multi-stakeholder approach, the AIS meetings help to foster collaboration and partnership among different actors, which is essential for promoting inclusive, sustainable, and resilient Internet in Africa.
The AIS’24 will provide presentations, tutorials, training sessions, and workshops on various technical topics related to Internet development in Africa. This helps to build the capacity of stakeholders, to participate meaningfully in Internet Governance processes. Bringing together stakeholders from different sectors and regions, providing opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to foster partnerships and build coalitions to address common challenges and achieve the shared goal of a safer and more available Internet for all in the region. The meeting will contribute to the development of a vibrant and inclusive community of Internet stakeholders in Africa. This community event provides a platform for ongoing dialogue, engagement, and cooperation, which is essential for sustaining progress and overcoming emerging challenges.
